Trauma is not a buz word.  It is not simply something that happened that you cannot forget. Trauma comes from an event or events that change the way your body works and your brain thinks.  Unprocessed trauma impacts your relationships. Trauma can be the cause of you lashing out at your spouse or cowering in fear at a raised voice.  It can be why you recoil when someone comes close for a hug.  It can be the source of those dark and cloudy nightmares that never make sense.  No matter the source of your trauma, it does not have to control your life.
